Michael Self Wins Pensacola 200 Delivering Venturini Motorsports its Second Consecutive ARCA Victory
After starting the 150-lap ARCA Menards Series race at Phoenix Raceway from the second position, Michael Self and the No. 25 Sinclair Oil Toyota Camry looked poised for a solid showing in the inaugural event. On a lap-36 restart, after pacing the field from second, Self reported to his Kevin Reed led team that he lost all power under throttle. Following a quick caution, Self brought his DINO powered machine to pit road, where the crew worked to diagnose the electrical issue. Making quick work, the team was able to remedy the issue and have Self rejoin the field in 19th. Making quick work of his competition, Self cracked back into the top-5 by lap-60 and found himself back on the leaders tail within the closing laps of the race. A late race caution would set the field up for a green/white and checkered finish, where Self and teammate Chandler Smith battled for the win. Just narrowly edged, Self brought home the No. 25 Sinclair Oil Toyota Camry in second place.
“Friday nights race was definitely a more hectic day than we wanted, but everyone on the No. 25 Sinclair Oil Toyota team did a great job overcoming adversity and giving me a fast car. Starting the year out with a win and a second place has a ton of confidence and momentum swirling around the whole team, so I am hoping we can keep it going when we head to Salem Speedway in a few weeks.”
